Redlands Unified School District Settles Sexual Abuse Lawsuit for $505,000

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Redlands Unified School District settled a sexual abuse lawsuit this week for $505,000 (See Story Here: http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-redlands-teacher-sex-abuse-lawsuit-20131209%2c0%2c3721709.story#axzz2n5IbKgVw).  The lawsuit alleged that teacher, Megan Kelly, has sexually inappropriate contact with a student over a long period of time and that the School District had sufficient notice of the contact and failed to take action to terminate the teacher's employment.  As a result of the settlement the teacher will remain on administrative leave until June and then be forced to resign.
