Lawsuit Alleges Sexual Abuse of Children at Summer Camps

A lawsuit in Kansas has recently been filed alleging years of sexual abuse of minors by the camp director. See more information here http://www.kansascity.com/2013/12/01/4663567/christian-camp-faces-lawsuits.html.   Summer camps should be a place where children can get away and feel safe and secure but, unfortunately, like any other environment where children are housed overnight, it is unfortunately, not unusual for children to be victims of sexual predators in this type of setting.  It will be interesting to see how the allegations are proven during the course of the civil discovery process in this case.  Because the alleged perpetrator is a director of the camp, it may be easier to hold the entity who runs the camp liable for his actions if the allegations of sexual assault prove to be true.
