Former California military academy head hit with new sex assault charges

Former California military academy head hit with new sex assault

Above story details the charges spanning three decades, three schools and now a seventh victim against Jeffrey Barton, former head of school at the Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, CA.  The victims reside in several states and range in age fro 28 to 42 at the present time.  The allegations are that Mr. Barton sexually abused the victims while they were minors attending various schools where he was teaching or an administrator.  The abuse is alleged to have taken place in various locales including a private cabin and to have involved the use of prescription drugs to incapacitate the victims.  For any instances occurring in California, the victims would also have the right to a civil claim for damages assuming they bring such claim by age 28 or obtain certification from a mental health professional that memories of the events in question had been suppressed, in which case they would have one year from such certification to file suit.
