Fox Co-Host Rape Remark Sparks Firestorm of Criticism (VIDEO)
It is unfortunate that many people, including journalists, take a flippant view about the problem of rape in and around college campuses. According to the public advocacy group Crisis Connect, there are as many as one in four women on college campuses in the U.S. who have been the victim of sexual assault. The prevalence of alcohol, incidents involving fraternities and sororities, and many other factors common in today's colleges and universities lead to non-consensual, sexual encounters including date rape. It is important to know that if the organization (such as a college fraternity or the University itself) had reason to know that a sexual assault may occur or, in any way, facilitated the events which lead up to the sexual battery, they may be held accountable for civil monetary damages.
